Goaltending coach Roope Koistinen
Third season as goaltending coach for the Griffins…Last season, helped Sebastian Cossa to a 21-15-5 record with a 2.54 GAA and a .911 save percentage, as the netminder earned his first-ever AHL All-Star Classic appearance…In 2024-25 under Koistinen’s guidance, Cossa ranked among AHL leaders in games played (T8th), wins (T10th), GAA (11th) and save percentage (T13th)…In first season with team last year, coached Cossa to a 22-9-9 record with two shutouts to go with a 2.41 GAA and a .913 save percentage…Under his guidance, Cossa ranked among the 2023-24 AHL leaders in GAA (T6th) and save percentage (T13th), and set a new franchise record with a 19-game point streak (13-0-6)…With Karpat’s youth programs in Finland from 2014-23, serving in multiple roles…2023 U17 World Hockey Challenge bronze medalist with Team Finland, serving as goaltending coach…Assistant coach for Finland’s U17 team, collecting bronze medal at 2023 European Youth Olympic Winter Festival…From 2015-23, goaltending coach for Karpat’s U18 and U20 clubs in addition to being director of goaltending development…Goaltending coach for Finland U16 from 2018-19 and 2021-22…Goaltending coach for Finland U17 from 2019-20 and 2022-23…Finished fourth at the 2021 U18 World Junior Championship as Finland’s goaltending coach…Spent entire playing career as a goaltender with KKP’s youth teams in Finland.
